City parks in Santa Fe Springs are a great way to get some fresh air and exercise while in the area. The unique architecture in the area as well as the natural landscape are ideal for recreation. One of the best features of these city parks is their proximity to the beautiful Santa Fe Springs Hot Springs spa. Some of these city parks even offer hiking trails so that vacationers can enjoy the outdoors even more. It’s no surprise that Santa Fe is one of the top destinations in southern California for both families and couples looking for some fun in the sun.
Unlike many other cities in the U.S., there are actually some city parks that aren’t part of a traditional park system. Instead, they are part of what’s called an “adventure playground.” These playgrounds are typically privately owned and provide all of the necessary amenities for kids. Adventure playgrounds are a great way for parents to get the family out and about and see what fun things they can do together.
Santa Fe Springs is home to a couple of amazing adventure playgrounds. Two of these locations are located at the southern edge of town. At the western end of South Mountain Street you’ll find the Treadmill Preserve, which has an abundance of different terrain including logs, rocks, dips, and roots. The freeform “Quiet Lapse” structure makes it a perfect place for you to work on your balance and suppleness. If you’d prefer a more paced activity, the southern end of Town Lake Park has several small playgrounds with climbing frames and activity centers.
To the north, you have the City Park at Prospect Street. This is one of the city parks that is actually open to visitors. All of the activities that take place there, from jogging and walking to horseback riding, biking, or playing tennis, can be enjoyed by everyone. You don’t have to worry about taking a spot on a reserved path or being told where to go or what to do. This is a great way to get some exercise while enjoying the beautiful scenery of Santa Fe.
Finally, the downtown area of Santa Fe Springs features two parks. One of these is Balboa Park, which is on the eastern edge of downtown. Here you’ll find a variety of outdoor activities including baseball, hiking, picnic, and chess. The other park is the Courtyard Park, which is on the western edge of downtown. Here you’ll find walking trails, skateboarding, and golfing.
If you want to experience what urban nature has to offer while in Santa Fe Springs, you need to check out the city parks. There is so much to do in these great outdoors spaces. Not only will you get a great workout, you will also have a great view of the downtown area.
